We use the Functional Range Conditioning during our Movement Therapy sessions.
Developed by world-renowned musculoskeletal, and human movement expert Dr. Andreo Spina, this therapy enlists the very latest advancements in the world of science. Functional Range Conditioning (FRC®) in addition to tried and tested training methods increase an individual's active, usable ranges of motion. This revolutionary training system allows our therapists to improve movement capacity and increase joint mobility, strength/resilience, and neurological control.
Mobility refers to the amount of USABLE motion that one possesses across a particular joint. Simply put, Flexibility + Strength = Mobility. Stability is essential because it leads to easy mobility and less risk of injuries. Incorporating this method of mobility training minimizes the risk of injury and keeps you moving healthier, longer.
By progressively expanding the body’s ranges of motion and educating the nervous system on how to control the newly acquired ranges. The entire process revolves around passive flexibility which is trained for usable, functional mobility. The joint in question is pulled to create strength at new ranges. These ranges are then continuously worked on daily, making the newly acquired mobility longer-lasting and readily accessible.
In short, yes. Since injuries are caused by stress placed on the body, this treatment and what it entails can have a positive impact. The entire process revolves around passive flexibility which is trained for usable, functional mobility. The joint in question is pulled to create strength at new ranges. Once we assess what joints need work, we develop a customized plan to strengthen them and reduce injuries.
Because FRC® is an evidence based system that uses scientific principles, it works with all joints of the body and gives our therapists the ability to work with any injury that walks through our doors. We use it extensively with lower back, hip and shoulder injuries and even use it to rehabilitate patients post-surgery. Our therapists also educate how to use FRC® so that proper mobility habits are developed and maintained. This education contributes to the reduced risk of future injury and, in some cases, has even allowed patients to prevent surgery.
